Mortem | 6. Like Cherry Blossoms

By Gold / p706

 Like Cherry Blossoms

At a garden, we meet once again,

I say meet, but I am invited.

What a time to be alive under

your heart blooming like cherry blossoms.

Like cherry blossoms, your eyes

planted within dry soil yet

ever ready to blossom anew and

pour life into those who gaze upon them.

Like cherry blossoms, you may not bloom

till the skin meets April’s heat.

To witness thy magnificence, I need

no heat to strike your skin.

Like cherry blossoms, fruits of

bittersweet moments surround your grace.

It is best to share them with you

for you bloom and paint the mind’s room.

Like cherry blossoms, your essence runs

down from my mouth to my chest.

The stain left behind drives the monks,

that rest under the branches, crazy

and lead them to war against peace.

Like cherry blossoms, every petal

that grows once every year reminds

me how lucky I am.

That my cherry blossom, even while

waiting to blossom, stands against

purity and beauty’s trial.

Would you like to see cherry blossoms?

Mors mihi lucrum.

Everyone scratches some words into the walls of their heart when they are young.

What turns us into poets is the fact that we keep writing.

Even in death.
